Stop Snoring Devices that Work – My Top Two

Stop Snoring Devices that Work – My Top Two

There are some great stop snoring devices that work, which are used by millions of people the world over, and are a great way to reduce and even stop snoring.

The favorite type device for most people however is a stop snoring mouthpiece.

So how do you decide which one is best for you, there are literally (at last count) 26 different mouthpieces on the market; probably more now.

There are also two types of mouthpieces (MAD and TSD), but so many different brands of stop snoring Mouthmouthpieces within these types; so which ones are the best? This article will cover my choice of stop snoring devices that work for me, and specifically the best one within each type of mouthpiece.

What are the different types and which one should you choose; the next chapter will briefly explain this.

Now choosing a mouthpiece within the type of mouthpiece you prefer, can be a little more complicated. You can go and buy mouthpiece after mouthpiece until you find one you like.

The easier way of course is to read this article and the reviews that go with it, and discover the mouthpieces that work for me.

In this article I will mention the two mouthpieces which I personally believe are currently the best mouthpieces available. To make it easy for you to choose, I will only name one mouthpiece within each type of mouthpieces.

Types of Stop Snoring Mouthpieces

Like I said there are mainly two types of mouthpieces, a MAD and TSD, which I will explain a bit.Same same but different

  1. The Mandibular Advancement Device (MAD): Sometimes known as a Mandibular Advancement Splint (MAS). It pulls the lower jaw (mandible) forward, which opens the airway and reduces the obstruction. MAD devices are either specially fitted by a specialist, or fitted by you by boiling it to get a custom fit. Most mouthpieces on the market today are a MAD type mouthpiece.
  2. The Tongue Stabilizing Device (TSD): Also known as a Tongue Retaining Device (TRD). It pulls the tongue, usually by suction, in a forward position and keeps it in that position, which opens the airway and reduces the obstruction. This prevents the tongue from falling back into the throat and reduces turbulence and vibration of the soft tissue. No need to fit this mouthpiece, as they are usually one size usually fits all. The TSD controls only the tongue; there is therefore less discomfort on the jaw.

What Works?

These are the two mouthpieces I found to be currently the best to work for snoring within each type of anti snoring mouthpiece; and I am sure they can help you too.

Mandibular Advancement Device (MAD):

This type of mouthpiece puts the emphasis on pulling the jaw forward to open the airways, and thereby providing restful sleep.

When the jaw is pulled forward, the throat muscles and tissues actually tighten which prevents it from collapsing onto the back of the throat.SleepTight MouthPiece Pack

It is very effective to stop snoring that starts in the back of the throat.

The MAD is a very popular type mouthpiece and after finding the Sleep Tight Mouthpiece I could easily see why.

The STM holds the jaw slightly forward when you sleep to open the airway and improves or eliminates snoring. The mouthpiece has a unique opening in front that allows you to breathe easily and allows your tongue to move freely, which instantly made it my favorite MAD type device.

Tongue Stabilizing Device (TSD):

The MAD is by far the most made mouthpieces, but it does not mean they are always the best for everyone. Many people can’t handle the amount of strain put on their jaw, which is typical with most MAD mouthpieces.

This is where a TSD comes in; it puts much less pressure on the jaw as it pulls the tongue forward and not the jaw.

When it comes to finding a good TSD, you will have to look far and wide to find one as good as the Good Morning Snore Solution mouthpiece (GMSS).Good Morning Snore Solution

The GMSS is especially effective for tongue based snorers, when the snoring comes from the area behind the tongue, but has also been proven to be effective for all other types of snorers too.

Another great thing about the GMSS mouthpiece is that it is one size fits all, so it can be used immediately when it is received; no need for special fitting.

I can therefore comfortably recommend the Good Morning Snore Solution mouthpiece, and you can read my full Good Morning Snore Solution review for more information.

What’s your type?

There you have it, my favorite mouthpieces for you to pick and choose.

Do you prefer a mouthpiece that holds your jaw forward or your tongue instead? Either way, both these types of mouthpieces and the two choices above are proven to help with snoring.

Have you tried another mouthpiece that actually works well for you? Please let me know, if I have not tried it, I will be happy to review it on this site.

As far as mouthpieces are concerned, these are the two mouthpiece type stop snoring devices that work for me, and I am sure they can work for you too.
